Political realignments are taking shape as the country prepares itself for the forthcoming general elections to be held in August next year.

A vocal Member of Parliament has somehow been shown the door for allegedly sitting on the offence instead of openly supporting President Dr William Samoei Arap Ruto.

Political commentator and politician Kinuthia Pius has launched a scathing attack on Laikipia East MP Mwangi Kiunjuri, labeling the Service Party (TSP) leader a hypocrite over his shifting political stances regarding the current administration.

Kinuthia criticized Kiunjuri for inconsistency, warning that political leaders from the Mount Kenya region must stop using threats and pressure tactics against the presidency.

He noted that Kiunjuri is entirely free to exit the government-aligned coalition if he wishes, but insisted that such political maneuvers would not deter President William Ruto’s strategic focus or impede his political trajectory.

Kinuthia emphasized that President Ruto’s political standing remains firm regardless of individual defections, expressing full confidence that the head of state will comfortably secure re-election in the 2027 general elections.

He urged loyal supporters to dismiss leaders who shift goalposts, maintaining that government programs and grassroots support will ultimately guarantee the administration’s political continuity.
