Former Deputy President and Democracy for Citizens Party leader Rigathi Gachagua has declared that Nairobi County is officially locked under opposition control following the massive Linda Mwananchi rally at the historic Jacaranda Grounds.
Evaluating the political realignment in the capital city, the opposition figure stated that the turnout across Eastlands and the CBD demonstrates that urban voters have decisively chosen their political path ahead of the 2027 general election.
Gachagua dismissed the electoral viability of the ruling administration in the capital, asserting that President William Ruto will face total rejection at the polls unless extraordinary divine intervention takes place.
He projected that the combined influence of key opposition figures, including Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, and himself, commands the vast majority of Nairobi’s 2.7 million registered voters.
Consequently, he claimed that the governing coalition will struggle to capture even ten thousand votes across the entire county.
