Mwangaza Accuses Linturi of Playing Both Sides in Political Double-Dealing
Former Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has launched a scathing attack on former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi, accusing him of political double-dealing by maintaining secret ties with President William Ruto while publicly aligning with the opposition.
Speaking on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, Mwangaza alleged that Linturi operates with dual allegiances ahead of the 2027 General Election. She claimed the former Cabinet Secretary visits State House at night to receive financial support, only to present himself as an opposition stalwart during the day.
“Linturi ni msaliti. Kwa Kasongo usiku kuchukua pesa, opposition mchana kujifanya ni wantam,” Mwangaza said during her strongly worded remarks, questioning the politician’s true loyalties. “Tumbo kubwa lisiloshiba!” she added.
Mwangaza also revisited the controversial fake fertiliser scandal that plagued Linturi’s tenure at the Ministry of Agriculture. Referring to him as “Mr. Fake Fertiliser,” she challenged the former senator to declare a definitive political stance instead of hovering between competing political alliances.
The attack follows recent efforts by Linturi to dismiss claims that he abandoned the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) to rejoin the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA). Linturi, who has expressed interest in contesting the Meru gubernatorial seat in 2027, recently addressed elders at his Meru home clad in DCP merchandise.
In a recent social media statement, Linturi rejected claims of switching camps as political propaganda spread by opponents, asserting that his commitment to liberating the country remains intact.
However, Mwangaza’s latest allegations underscore the intensifying political friction in Meru County as key figures continuously realign themselves ahead of the upcoming general elections.
