Political temperature in Nairobi surged after former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua publicly applauded a massive opposition rally hosted by former ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, and Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Reacting to footage circulating across social media platforms, Gachagua expressed immense admiration for the aggressive political momentum generated by the energetic young leaders.

Watching the massive turnout on YouTube, he remarked that the opposition movement had effectively locked down the capital city’s electoral math ahead of the upcoming political cycle.

Gachagua highlighted his strategic alliance with his ally Kalonzo Musyoka alongside Sifuna and Owino, noting that their combined influence ensures absolute dominance over Nairobi’s vast voting constituency.

He personally reached out to the young politicians to commend their fierce drive, stating that their aggressive grassroots mobilization was so formidable that he felt no urgency to return to the frontlines immediately.

He admitted to marveling at their relentless push, describing the young leadership as exceptionally sharp, capable, and lethal in their campaign approach.

The rally, which drew huge crowds at Jacaranda Grounds, signaled a united opposition front under the Linda Mwananchi banner.

Gachagua asserted that with the capital secured under their collective banner, competing political forces will face an impossible battle to secure a meaningful share of the city’s votes.

This endorsement underscores a growing realignment within Kenyan politics, where established heavyweights are backing dynamic youth leaders to consolidate urban strongholds.

By publicly praising Sifuna and Babu Owino, Gachagua has reaffirmed a powerful multi-faction coalition aimed at completely altering the political landscape ahead of the next general election.
