Governance analyst and legal expert Philip Mwangale has criticized the current administration’s ongoing reliance on scapegoating the previous regime for the nation’s economic woes.

He urged the head of state to direct his energy toward fulfilling campaign pledges rather than complaining about inheritance.

Analyzing the ongoing debate surrounding state finances and inherited debt, Mwangale acknowledged that former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration oversaw significant financial mismanagement and widespread looting.

He noted that any leadership succeeding the previous government was bound to face substantial economic headwinds and severe budgetary deficits.

The systemic financial strain created under the prior regime inevitably left the country on precarious economic footing, presenting formidable challenges for the incoming executive.

However, the legal specialist emphasized that the current head of state wields vast constitutional authority, extensive state machinery, and immense administrative resources.

Given these immense capabilities, continuing to deflect responsibility onto the previous leadership reflects weak executive posture and an absence of proactive governance.

Mwangale stressed that citizens elected the current administration to engineer solutions, manage state affairs, and alleviate economic distress, not to repeatedly highlight past failures.

Sustained public complaints regarding inherited financial troubles, he argued, serve no constructive purpose for a population enduring high living costs and rising taxation.

Concluding his assessment, the analyst insisted that leadership requires taking full ownership of national challenges regardless of their origins.

He advised the administration to abandon the blame strategy entirely and focus strictly on implementing actionable policy solutions that yield tangible economic relief and honor promises made to the electorate.
