Jubilee Party Deputy Leader Jeremiah Kioni has called on former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and opposition figures to cease profiling fellow political leaders as “moles,” warning that paranoia and internal hostility risk fracturing the United Opposition ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Addressing the ongoing friction within opposition ranks, Kioni emphasized that the focus of anti-government forces must strictly remain anchored on issue-based politics and the pressing socio-economic concerns affecting ordinary citizens.
He noted that demonizing political partners through unverified claims of state sponsorship only undermines trust and plays directly into the hands of the ruling administration.
The remarks follow mounting tensions fueled by accusations that certain opposition members were acting on behalf of the National Intelligence Service to divide the coalition.
Kioni argued that political suspicion weakens democratic principles and distracts from the core mandate of holding the government accountable.
He stressed that a credible political alternative requires cohesion, mutual respect, and a collective commitment to national interest rather than continuous political witch-hunts.
Furthermore, Kioni urged coalition principals to foster an environment where open dialogue can thrive without fear of political vilification.
