Funyula Member of Parliament Wilberforce Oundo has delivered a bold declaration regarding the shifting political landscape, asserting that Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has fully taken over the political legacy and massive voting block previously commanded by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Speaking on the political momentum following the opposition rally, Oundo explained that the choice to assemble at the iconic Jacaranda Grounds was a calculated move to reclaim control over the capital city’s politics.
The lawmaker stated that the historical opposition stronghold in Nairobi has officially shifted into new hands, declaring the Orange Democratic Movement effectively defunct.
According to Oundo, the traditional party machinery has lost its grip, paving the way for the Linda Mwananchi movement to assume total dominance over the country’s political sphere moving forward.
He noted that the movement’s rise marks a complete departure from past political arrangements that failed to deliver on public expectations.
Oundo highlighted that the massive turnout and overwhelming reception from citizens across the capital have provided renewed confidence to the opposition brigade.
He emphasized that the growing public backing demonstrates a clear rejection of current government policies and strengthens their resolve to unseat President William Ruto in the upcoming general election.
The lawmaker observed that the sheer enthusiasm witnessed at Jacaranda Grounds signals a powerful grassroots desire for systemic leadership change.
As political realignments accelerate across the country, Oundo expressed strong optimism that the momentum generated by Linda Mwananchi will consolidate opposition voting blocs nationwide.
The Funyula MP maintained that the movement remains on course to offer a formidable alternative, positioning itself as the primary vehicle to challenge the ruling coalition and reshape Kenya’s governance in the next electoral cycle.
