President William Ruto has launched a blistering attack on opposition leaders, accusing them of being financial puppets controlled by external sponsors intent on stalling national development projects.
Addressing a crowd during a public tour, the Head of State asserted that dependence on shadowy political patrons has completely crippled the opposition’s capacity for independent thought and constructive leadership.
Ruto claimed that the opposition’s persistent resistance to key government initiatives, including the flagship Affordable Housing Program and infrastructure developments, is not driven by concern for citizens, but rather by directives from defeated figures seeking to derail his administration’s agenda.
He argued that acting as surrogates for wealthy backers undermines an individual’s intellectual autonomy, rendering political opponents completely incapable of presenting a viable vision for the country.
The President dismissed the political opposition as severely compromised and completely out of ideas, asserting that their entire strategy relies on obstructionism and insult politics rather than proposing alternative solutions.
Defending his development record, President Ruto reiterated that key programs, such as affordable housing, directly address core challenges like unemployment, urban informal settlements, and economic stagnation.
He urged citizens to reject self-serving leaders who prioritize foreign or shadow political interests over community progress.
