“Power Is Good”: Deputy President Kithure Kindiki Accorded Royal Welcome in Uganda
ENTEBBE, UGANDA — Kenya’s Deputy President, His Excellency Kithure Kindiki, landed at Entebbe International Airport on Friday, receiving a grand, high-profile reception.
Shortly after departing Nairobi—where he was seen off by key state officials, including Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya—Kindiki’s arrival in the neighboring nation turned heads and sparked viral online reactions.
Described by online observers as a welcome fit “for a King,” the Deputy President was officially received by Kenya’s High Commissioner to Uganda, Honorable Ababu Namwamba, along with senior Ugandan dignitaries led by Uganda’s Deputy President Jessica Alupo.

Deputy President Kindiki is in Uganda representing President William Ruto at the Second Extraordinary Summit of the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).
The high-level regional summit brings together Heads of State and Government from troop-contributing countries—including Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Burundi, Egypt, and Somalia—alongside senior delegations from the African Union, the United Nations, and IGAD.
As one of the leading contributors to regional peace missions, Kenya plays a pivotal role in AUSSOM’s operations to combat Al-Shabaab, protect civilians, and build Somali security institutions.
