Political Earthquake: Ndindi Nyoro Dumps UDA, Unveils Bold 2028 Blueprint Under People’s Party of Kenya
In a seismic political shift that has reshaped Kenya’s legislative and party landscape, Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has officially parted ways with the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) to join the People’s Party of Kenya (PPK).
Addressing the media directly after taking the high-stakes leap into the opposition camp, Nyoro laid out a comprehensive socio-economic blueprint targeting the 2028 General Election—a master plan designed to transform Kenya without burdening taxpayers.
Nyoro noted that his experience in past national campaigns taught him a fundamental lesson: while campaigning requires enthusiasm, actual governance demands deep, pragmatic planning.
His 15-point strategy offers concrete policy proposals across education, healthcare, employment, and the economy, earning widespread praise from citizens and analysts alike.

Furthermore, his plan introduces universal Free Secondary Education starting in January 2028, funded by pooling KSh 10 billion from NG-CDF, KSh 10 billion from county equitable shares, and KSh 15 billion from the national government to serve 3.5 million learners across 9,500 senior secondary schools.
In healthcare, Nyoro argues that pension benefits mean little without life and health. To bridge chronic funding gaps, his policy advocates redirecting roughly KSh 40 billion—half of current NSSF contributions—directly into healthcare.
This shift aims to cover major chronic illnesses, upgrade local facilities into regional hubs, and create a dedicated Kenyan Doctors and Healthcare Workers Commission to streamline medical employment away from county-level management.
Industrial Growth, Agriculture, and Job Creation
To address youth unemployment, Nyoro’s blueprint binds every Cabinet Secretary to explicit job creation targets, tracked through mandatory monthly and quarterly public reporting.
On industrialization, the MP proposes liberalizing the power sector, re-evaluating KenGen assets to raise KSh 150 billion for energy regeneration, and creating Shenzhen-style Special Economic Zones (SEZs) across coastal counties like Mombasa, Kwale, and Lamu.
Agriculture—which sustains over 83% of informal workers—is marked for an overhaul. Nyoro promises to shift from low-productivity farming to specialized tea, coffee, and local value addition.
He also highlights expanding rural infrastructure, modeling villages after South Korea’s high-yield community practices, and opening up Northern Kenya through solar-powered data centers and wide-scale irrigation.
Opposition Unity and Political Roadmap
Nyoro confirmed that PPK has joined the opposition, announcing active consultations with prominent political figures—including Kalonzo Musyoka, Rigathi Gachagua, Dr. Fred Matiang’i, Edwin Sifuna, and James Orengo—to build a unified front.
“In the long run, what gets fulfilled is what has been well thought out and planned… A progressive and growing Kenya serves all of us. Let us hold hands and move forward together.” — Hon. Ndindi Nyoro
By grounding his exit from UDA in detailed structural proposals, Nyoro has framed his political migration not merely as a party departure, but as a policy-first agenda aimed at 2028.
