JUST IN: Ndindi Nyoro Dumps UDA, Joins People’s Party of Kenya Ahead of 2027
NAIROBI, Kenya — In a major political tremor shaking the ruling coalition, Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has officially parted ways with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
Addressing a packed press conference in Nairobi, the second-term legislator declared that he should no longer be associated with the party under which he was elected in the 2022 general election.
Nyoro revealed that he has formally joined the united opposition under the People’s Party of Kenya (PPK).
The vocal lawmaker cited deep ideological differences and a fundamental departure from the promises made to the electorate as key drivers for his high-profile exit.
“I want to make it clear to the nation today that my time with UDA has officially come to an end,” Nyoro stated. “The values we stood for prior to the 2022 general election have been sidelined, leaving the economic burden on ordinary citizens unaddressed. Moving forward, do not associate me with UDA.

I have aligned myself and my vision with the opposition through the People’s Party of Kenya to fight for the interest of Kenyans.”
Once considered a cornerstone of the ruling party’s grassroots mobilization in Mount Kenya and a core ally of the administration, Nyoro’s official departure marks a dramatic realignment in the country’s political landscape.
Political analysts view the move to PPK as a strategic power play ahead of the 2027 polls. With the Kiharu legislator joining the united opposition front, the ruling UDA party faces a critical challenge in maintaining its grip on regional strongholds.
Nyoro’s exit underscores growing fractures within the ruling establishment as the race to rebuild political alliances intensifies.
