Former Mukurweini Member of Parliament Kabando Wa Kabando has declared that President William Ruto will be unable to manipulate the outcome of the 2027 presidential election.
The former lawmaker asserted that public discontent has reached a point where political manipulation is no longer possible, emphasizing that broad national consensus renders any attempt to compromise the electoral process ineffective.
Kabando maintained that widespread dissatisfaction across diverse socio-economic sectors, including state institutions, has unified the country against the current administration.
Referring to the President using the popular political moniker Kasongo, Kabando stated that public disillusionment with government policies has created an insurmountable wave of opposition that will dictate the election outcome regardless of state influence.
The former legislator highlighted that public anger stems from unresolved economic challenges, rising living costs, and governance concerns, which have eroded confidence in the executive.
He argued that when a population becomes overwhelmingly aligned in its desire for systemic reform, traditional mechanisms used to influence polls lose their efficacy.
Kabando expressed confidence that civil society, youth-led movements, and organized political factions are actively preparing robust voter protection measures.
He noted that heightened public vigilance, paired with widespread civic engagement, will safeguard ballot integrity across polling centers nationwide.
The politician called on pro-change forces to focus on maximizing voter registration and maintaining unified political structures. Kabando emphasized that a decisive electoral turnout remains the most effective defense against electoral irregularities.
He concluded that the combination of popular mobilization, institutional oversight, and overwhelming public determination will ensure a transparent democratic outcome and prevent any subversion of the voters’ will in the upcoming general election.
