Leaders emphasized the need for stronger partnerships between the government and local communities to ensure that development initiatives reach every citizen.

A key theme of the discussions was the importance of working closely with religious leaders, the business community, women and young people in promoting peace and inclusive development.

Participants agreed that these groups play a vital role in fostering harmony and driving economic progress within the county.

The leaders also explored ways of encouraging greater participation in national civic exercises, particularly the ongoing drive for national identity card registration and voter registration.

They noted that access to identification documents remains a critical gateway to government services, employment opportunities and democratic participation.

Community representatives urged eligible residents to acquire national identity cards and register as voters, describing civic participation as a fundamental responsibility that enables citizens to influence the country’s leadership and development agenda.

During the discussions, members of the Somali community reaffirmed their support for President William Ruto’s development agenda.

They noted that unity remains essential in creating an environment that attracts investment, supports businesses and empowers young people through employment and entrepreneurship.

Those present at the meeting included Somali community Chairman Mr. Abdow Bahaji, respected elder Mzee Adan Gulleid and several other distinguished community leaders, who pledged to continue working with government institutions in advancing development priorities.
