NAIROBI, Kenya — Former Vice President and Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka has strongly refuted claims that he visited President William Ruto at State House on July 29, 2026, terming the rumors as baseless political propaganda.

The clarification comes after reports pushed by Kenya Kwanza-aligned bloggers suggested that the veteran opposition leader was on the verge of joining the government following alleged high-level negotiations.

Setting the record straight, Kalonzo revealed that he was actually in Tanzania during the time the speculation was spreading across social media.

He explained that he took a boat from Zanzibar at around 5:00 AM on July 30, precisely when political commentators and online influencers were driving the false narrative that he was inside the State House meeting the Head of State.

“The People’s Loyal Coalition will never be part of the biggest betrayal of Kenyans for political expediency and temporary comfort,” Kalonzo emphasized, dismissing any prospects of defecting to the ruling administration.

Addressing concerns among his supporters, the Wiper party leader assured the public that he remains firmly anchored within the United Opposition.

He dismissed talk of joining the broad-based government, reiterating that his resolve to offer strong opposition and oversight remains unshaken.

Directly confronting the political speculation, Kalonzo vowed to maintain his stand against the current administration. He declared that even if he turns out to be the last leader remaining to challenge the President, he will stay committed to his mission to unseat Ruto’s administration.
