Video: Gachagua Storms Meru Like A King, Sends A Warning To Ruto On 2027
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua made a triumphant entrance into Meru County on the second day of his high-stakes tour across Mount Kenya East, defying local political friction and making a bold political statement aimed directly at the State House.
Despite pushback from local figures such as Mbeere North MP Geoffrey Ruku—who has previously advocated for dividing Mount Kenya into East and West blocks if the region fails to reach a consensus—Gachagua firmly rejected any calls for division.
Taking the political fight straight to Ruku’s doorstep, the former Deputy President rallied local residents in a resounding show of unity.
Viral videos circulated across social media platforms showed Gachagua receiving a heroic, king-like welcome from thousands of cheering supporters as his motorcade made its way through Imenti.
Crowds lined the streets, chanting slogans of solidarity and waving banners as he addressed packed public gatherings.

Speaking to a energized crowd in Imenti, Gachagua launched a blistering attack against President William Ruto, issuing a stern warning ahead of the 2027 General Election.
He declared that the people of Meru remain deeply aggrieved over the political maneuvers that led to his impeachment, alongside the targeting of local leaders including former Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza and former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi.
“The people of Meru and the larger Mount Kenya region are angry, and they will not be partitioned or manipulated by anyone,” Gachagua stated.
He emphasized that the electorate in Mount Kenya East and West remain united and will deliver a decisive verdict at the ballot box.
Warning that the current administration should prepare for a harsh political lesson in 2027, Gachagua declared that voters are ready to vote President Ruto out of office in response to what he termed as political betrayal.
