Speaking during a diplomatic engagement focused on bilateral cooperation, Mudavadi emphasized that Japan has consistently played a key role in supporting Kenya’s infrastructure growth, economic development and capacity-building initiatives.
He noted that the relationship between the two countries continues to expand beyond traditional aid to more robust investment, trade, and technology transfer frameworks.
Mudavadi highlighted that Kenya values Japan not only as a development partner but also as a model of innovation, industrial advancement, and disciplined governance.
He pointed out that Kenya is keen on learning from Japan’s experience in manufacturing, green energy, transport systems, and digital transformation as the country pushes forward with its national development blueprint.
He further stressed that the Kenya–Japan partnership aligns closely with Kenya’s Bottom- Up Economic Transformation Agenda, which seeks to empower citizens through job creation, small business growth and industrial expansion.
According to Mudavadi, Japanese investments in key sectors such as infrastructure, health, education, and agriculture have already made a tangible impact on livelihoods across the country.
The Prime Cabinet Secretary also reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to creating a more favorable investment climate for Japanese companies.

He assured that the government is working on policy reforms aimed at improving ease of doing business, strengthening governance systems, and enhancing security for foreign investors.
Mudavadi called for increased collaboration in emerging sectors such as renewable energy, climate change adaptation, and digital innovation, noting that both countries share common interests in sustainable development.
He encouraged Japanese private sector players to take advantage of Kenya’s position as a regional economic hub and gateway to the East African market.
On his part, Japanese representatives reportedly welcomed Kenya’s renewed commitment, expressing optimism about expanding cooperation in infrastructure financing, technology exchange programs, and skills development initiatives.
The reaffirmation of ties comes at a time when Kenya is seeking to diversify its global partnerships while strengthening relations with long-standing allies.
Japan remains one of Kenya’s key development partners, having supported major projects such as road construction, port expansion, and urban transport systems.
Mudavadi concluded by reiterating that Kenya is committed to nurturing a mutually beneficial relationship with Japan that delivers long-term economic growth, stability, and prosperity for both nations.
