Speaking to reporters in West Palm Beach, Florida, before boarding Air Force One, Trump confirmed that his administration had received the concept of a new proposal from Iran aimed at reducing tensions.

However, he said he was still waiting for the full details before making any decision.
“They told me about the concept of the deal,” Trump said. “They’re going to give me the exact wording now.”

But when asked directly whether the US could launch fresh strikes on Iran, Trump refused to rule it out.
“If they misbehave, if they do something bad, we’ll see,” he said. “But it’s a possibility that could happen.”

The remarks come weeks after the United States and Israel suspended a bombing campaign targeting Iranian military infrastructure during a major regional escalation that disrupted global energy supplies and rattled financial markets.

At the center of the negotiations is the strategically critical Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping route through which nearly 20 percent of the world’s oil and gas passes.

Iran has reportedly proposed reopening the strait and easing tensions in exchange for the lifting of US blockades and sanctions, while postponing discussions about its nuclear program until later stages of negotiations.

Iranian officials insist their nuclear activities are peaceful, but Washington has repeatedly maintained that Tehran must never be allowed to develop nuclear weapons.

According to reports, Iran’s latest 14-point proposal includes demands for the withdrawal of US forces from areas surrounding Iran, the release of frozen Iranian assets, compensation payments, and guarantees that neither the US nor Israel would launch future attacks.

Trump, however, appeared skeptical about the proposal, arguing that Iran had “not paid a big enough price” for its actions.

The renewed rhetoric has intensified concerns about instability across the Middle East, with analysts warning that any breakdown in talks could trigger another surge in oil prices and deepen global economic uncertainty.

Markets remain highly sensitive to developments involving the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical energy chokepoints.

Despite his tough tone, Trump insisted he still preferred diplomacy over military confrontation, saying he hoped a deal could eventually be reached.

However, his latest comments signal that the threat of military action remains firmly on the table as tensions between Washington and Tehran continues to simmer .
