Kenyans Told Why Orengo Will Abandon Sifuna and ‘Linda Mwananchi’ to Return to ODM
NAIROBI, Kenya — Siaya Governor James Orengo will eventually abandon the newly formed Linda Mwananchi movement and seek political refuge back in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), according to Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohammed.
The political landscape within ODM has remained turbulent following the passing of former party leader Raila Odinga and the subsequent removal of Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna from his role as party Secretary General.
In the wake of these internal leadership shifts, Sifuna joined hands with Governor Orengo and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino to launch Linda Mwananchi, an initiative that has rapidly gained traction across the country.

Speaking in a viral video, Junet Mohammed dismissed the longevity of the new political outfit, asserting that Orengo’s association with Sifuna and Babu Owino is only temporary.
According to Junet, the Siaya Governor will soon realize that he is being politically exploited within the movement.
“Orengo will soon discover that he is merely being used in that arrangement,” Junet stated. “When the reality dawns on him, he will have no choice but to run back to ODM, because it is the only political home that can truly accommodate him and guarantee his political survival.”
Junet argued that ODM’s established institutional structure remains the sole reliable vehicle for veteran leaders like Orengo, predicting that the momentum behind Linda Mwananchi will falter as internal rivalries emerge.
As the struggle for control over the post-Raila political era intensifies, all eyes remain on Orengo to see whether he will maintain his stand alongside Sifuna or heed Junet’s call to return to the party fold.
