The exchange escalated rapidly when Belgut Member of Parliament Nelson Koech made a startling claim regarding Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
According to Koech, the opposition principal had secretly reached out to the president shortly after the conclusion of the general election, specifically requesting executive backing to secure the position of Speaker of the Senate.
Koech maintained that despite publicly criticizing the administration’s stance, high-ranking opposition figures were actively seeking personal accommodations behind closed doors.
The allegation drew immediate and fiery pushback from Makueni Senator Dan Maanzo, who forcefully dismissed the statement on live television.
Rejecting the claim in its entirety, Maanzo branded the assertion as an outright fabrication intended to tarnish the opposition leader’s integrity and create false narratives surrounding the post-election transition.
