Something appears to have gone seriously wrong in Githunguri, and MP Gathoni Wamuchomba is demanding answers.

A newly constructed police post that residents have been waiting for is ready to serve the community, yet according to the legislator, police officers allegedly refused to take over the facility leaving her questioning who gave the order. Read Full Article Here

Wamuchomba did not hide her frustration. In a strongly worded message, she claimed she had made every effort to support President William Ruto’s government, only to face what she described as contempt from some of its officials.

The MP alleged that the police had previously raised concerns about accommodation and sanitation before taking over the post.

She said those concerns were addressed by constructing officers’ quarters, paving the way for the facility to become operational.

But when the handover was expected to happen, Wamuchomba said the officers failed to show up, allegedly citing a lack of instructions from senior authorities.

The unanswered question quickly became the centre of her anger: who exactly was behind the decision?

Wamuchomba claimed the resistance was linked to her criticism of Cabinet Secretaries Murkomen and Duale, accusing officials of attempting to punish her politically.

She has now demanded the immediate deployment of officers, insisting that the residents who need security services should not suffer because of political disagreements.
