City Commuters Warned: Avoid These Roads or Face Hours of Delays

Motorists in Nairobi have been advised to prepare for significant traffic disruptions on June 6 and 7, 2026, as the city hosts the annual Nairobi City Marathon, one of the country’s largest road racing events.

Authorities have announced that several major roads and sections of the Nairobi Expressway will be temporarily closed to facilitate the marathon, which is expected to attract thousands of local and international athletes.
