Family Agrees on Joint Burial Ground for Wicknell Chivayo and Wife Lucy

The family of the late Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo has confirmed that he and his new wife, Lucy, will be laid to rest at the same cemetery following an agreement reached with Lucy’s relatives.

Family spokesperson Herbert Chivayo made the announcement on Friday, October 2, 2026, through ZBC News Online, confirming that both families had granted approval for the shared burial site.

The decision brings a degree of closure to the grieving families as they navigate the complex process of saying goodbye to the couple lost together.

Emotional scenes have been witnessed at the Chivayo home, where relatives, friends, and church members gathered to mourn. Among those expressing deep grief is lawyer Wilson Manase of Manase and Manase Legal Practitioners, who described himself as “really hurt” and “in pain” following the tragedy.
