“No Fool Should Be Allowed To Lead Kenya,” Ruto Declares Ahead of 2027 Election
NAIROBI, Kenya: President William Ruto has sparked mixed reactions online after warning Kenyans to choose their leaders carefully in the 2027 General Election.
Speaking at the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) graduation at State House, Nairobi, the President said “no fool should be allowed to lead Kenya.”
He appeared visibly angry. He cautioned voters against unexpected decisions at the ballot box, saying Kenyans would suffer if they backed leaders who offer only slogans instead of real solutions.

A Familiar Theme
The message echoes earlier remarks. During a visit to Nyeri, Ruto said leaders would face an examination in 2027 and be judged on the work they have done.
In another address, he also said every leader is elected on the basis of track record and vision.
Political Temperatures Rising.
Allies are already campaigning. National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula predicted in January 2026 that Ruto would win decisively in 2027, pointing to major development projects. Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has urged Kenya Kwanza leaders to focus on securing Ruto’s re-election before debating 2032 succession.
Mixed Reactions
On social media, supporters praised the call to judge leaders on delivery. Critics asked who the President was referring to and said those in government should also be held accountable for their promises.
With skills training and youth jobs high on voters’ minds, the NITA graduates are part of the audience that will decide the next election.
