Ndindi Nyoro
MURANG’A, Kenya — Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has firmly shut the door on United Democratic Alliance (UDA) leaders seeking to join his newly adopted People’s Party of Kenya (PPK) if they have a history of attacking opposition figures or causing political disruptions.
Speaking on Wednesday during his inaugural “People’s Tour” rally in Mukuyu, Murang’a County, the lawmaker declared that politicians linked to insults and violence would not find a home in PPK.
Nyoro made it clear that individuals who have insulted key figures—such as former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, and former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i—must first reconcile with them before approaching his party.
Nyoro noted that several UDA allies had attempted to congratulate him following his high-profile exit from the ruling party.
However, he insisted that PPK maintains strict standards for its recruitment drive ahead of the 2027 General Election. He emphasized that politicians known for bringing chaos to public spaces or churches would be turned away.

The Mukuyu rally marks the start of a broader grassroots mobilization strategy following Nyoro’s public departure from UDA. A former key ally of President William Ruto and former Chair of the National Assembly Budget and Appropriations Committee, Nyoro confirmed that his transition to PPK followed months of consultations with prominent opposition leaders.
First registered in 2012, PPK operates under the slogan “Usawa Haki Uhuru.” Nyoro aims to build a nationwide movement, with future political tours planned across the Rift Valley and other regions as PPK positions itself as a formidable opposition force.
