Nyoro Breaks Silence on Gachagua’s Impeachment, Issues Strict Ultimatum to UDA Defectors

NAIROBI, Kenya — Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has decisively broken his silence regarding the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, issuing a strict condition for any United Democratic Alliance (UDA) politicians seeking to align with his political movement.

Speaking on Wednesday, August 19, the vocal lawmaker declared that he will not entertain or work with any leaders—particularly those currently affiliated with the ruling UDA—who have previously disrespected or insulted the Democracy and Civic Party (DCP) leader.

Mandatory Apology at Wamunyoro

Addressing the political realignments following his departure from the ruling coalition, Nyoro stated that any UDA-elected leaders planning to defect to his People’s Party of Kenya (PPK) must first make public amends with Gachagua at his home in Wamunyoro.

“I saw some of the UDA leaders congratulating me for forming my party. If you are still in government and you have insulted Gachagua, the People’s Party has no time for you unless you go and make amends with him,” Nyoro emphasized.

The MP clarified that this embargo also extends to pro-government figures who have launched political attacks on other key figures within the United Opposition, including Jubilee’s Fred Matiang’i, Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka, and PLP’s Martha Karua.

Furthermore, Nyoro stressed that PPK would not welcome politicians involved in the deployment of goons or the disruption of church functions.

Addressing skepticism regarding his true motives and his standing within the broader Opposition, Nyoro reiterated his commitment to ensuring President William Ruto is not re-elected, asserting that his actions will soon vindicate him.

“Ruto is Kenya’s number one enemy. Ndindi Nyoro will not fight anyone who supports the mission to send him to Sugoi, or anyone who says ‘Wantam’. Sometimes I see that people do not understand me, but you will know my true colours in the near future. We must finish this journey to send him home,” he added.

Nyoro’s firm stance comes amid heightened friction with figures allied to Gachagua. Nyandarua Senator John Methu, who serves as the DCP Secretary General, publicly dismissed PPK as a “wheelbarrow party” allegedly deployed by the state to split the Mount Kenya voting block. Methu questioned how the party was registered so swiftly compared to other political vehicles.

However, official records confirm that PPK is not a newly registered entity; the party has existed since 1996 and was fully recertified under the Political Parties Act in April 2012.
