Johnson Nduya Muthama is a prominent Kenyan businessman and politician currently serving as a Commissioner on the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC).

He served as the inaugural National Chairperson of the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party from its formation through the 2022 general elections, playing a key role in building its grassroots presence before stepping down in early 2023.

Prominent Kenyan politician and former Senator Johnson Muthama has joined leaders across East Africa in extending profound condolences to the government and people of the United Republic of Tanzania following the passing of Hafidh Ameir Hassan, the husband of President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

In a formal message shared with the public, Muthama conveyed deep sorrow on behalf of regional well-wishers, emphasizing that East Africans stand firmly with their Tanzanian brothers and sisters during this period of immense national mourning.

The death of the presidential spouse, who passed away while receiving medical treatment at a medical facility in Zanzibar, has drawn an outpouring of grief from political figures across the East African Community. Muthama noted that shared regional bonds mean neighboring nations feel the weight of such a significant loss deeply.

He expressed heartfelt thoughts and prayers for the grieving family and the entire nation, invoking divine strength, comfort, and patience for the citizens of Tanzania as they navigate the profound sorrow accompanying the departure of a respected figure who quietly maintained a dignified presence alongside the nation’s leadership for decades.

Regional political analysts have underscored that such expressions of solidarity reflect the strong diplomatic and interpersonal ties binding East African nations together during moments of national trial.

As preparations for final funeral rites get underway in Zanzibar, leaders from various political divides continue to send messages emphasizing unity, mutual support, and regional camaraderie.

Muthama reiterated that the collective thoughts of neighboring communities remain closely aligned with the Tanzanian populace, affirming that mutual empathy and cross-border solidarity continue to define the true spirit of East African integration during times of shared sorrow and national reflection.
