Sifuna had reportedly made it clear that he would not accept the position of deputy to another presidential candidate in the 2027 election, a position that immediately drew a sharp response from Kaluma.
In a strongly worded reaction, Kaluma appeared to challenge Sifuna’s political standing and accused him of trying to dictate terms within a political arrangement.
“How can a puppet like you dictate his position to the puppeteer!” Kaluma said, escalating the exchange.
The MP went further, bringing former President Uhuru Kenyatta into the dispute. He claimed that Uhuru, whom he described as Sifuna’s sponsor, had already decided that Sifuna would occupy the number two position.
“Your sponsor Uhuru Kenyatta has decided you will be useless number 2 – it is FINAL,” Kaluma stated.
Kaluma also made another bold declaration concerning the Nairobi Senate seat, insisting that former radio presenter Jalang’o, popularly known as Jalas, would be the region’s next senator.
“Our new Senator for Nairobi is Jalas – you can’t reverse!” he declared.
The remarks have added another dramatic layer to the opposition politics taking shape ahead of 2027. Sifuna has increasingly positioned himself as a major player in the emerging political contest, while rival camps continue to debate who should lead and who should take supporting positions.
With alliances still taking shape, the latest exchange suggests that the battle over leadership roles could become just as intense as the presidential contest itself.
