President William Ruto has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring balanced development across the country, saying no region will be neglected as the government continues implementing key infrastructure and economic projects aimed at improving the lives of Kenyans.
Speaking during a development engagement in Kitui County, the President emphasized that his administration is focused on creating an equal Kenya by ensuring that every county benefits from national development regardless of political affiliation or geographical location.
“We are developing every part of our country to make Kenya a more equal country. No region will be marginalised or left behind for whatever reason,” President Ruto said.
The Head of State highlighted several flagship projects currently underway in Kitui County, describing them as part of the government’s broader strategy to spur economic growth, create employment opportunities and improve access to essential public services.
Among the major projects being implemented are the construction of modern markets designed to provide traders with safe and organized business spaces.
The President said the markets will help small-scale entrepreneurs expand their businesses while improving local commerce and increasing household incomes.
In addition, the government is rolling out affordable housing projects in the county under the national Affordable Housing Programme.

The initiative seeks to provide decent and affordable homes while simultaneously creating thousands of jobs in the construction sector and supporting local businesses that supply building materials.
The President also announced the construction of student hostels to improve accommodation for learners pursuing higher education.
He noted that expanding student housing would create a better learning environment and ease the burden faced by many students seeking affordable accommodation.
Infrastructure development remains another key priority, with the government constructing more than 250 kilometres of new roads across Kitui County.
According to the President, the improved road network will enhance connectivity between towns and rural areas, reduce transport costs, facilitate trade and open up agricultural regions to larger markets.
Ruto said investments in roads are essential for unlocking the county’s economic potential by making it easier for farmers, traders and investors to move goods and services efficiently.
The President maintained that his administration remains committed to delivering its development agenda across all parts of the country, insisting that equitable distribution of national resources is critical to promoting unity and inclusive growth.
He urged residents to support government development initiatives, saying sustained investment in infrastructure, housing, education and markets will improve livelihoods and strengthen local economies.
The government’s ongoing projects in Kitui form part of its nationwide development agenda, which seeks to accelerate economic transformation, expand opportunities for citizens and ensure that every region benefits from Kenya’s long-term growth and prosperity.
