Sifuna Fires Back at Ruto Over “No Agenda” Claims, Alleges Graft in TSC Hiring
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has launched a scathing attack on President William Ruto, dismissing the President’s assertion that the opposition lacks a clear national agenda and relies solely on political slogans.
Addressing a gathering in Nairobi, the Linda Mwananchi team leader and 2027 presidential aspirant refuted claims of aimlessness, taking direct aim at the Head of State’s criticism.
In a sarcastically charged response, Sifuna questioned President Ruto’s failure to grasp the opposition’s alternative vision for the country, describing him as a “slow learner” despite his academic credentials.
Beyond political rhetoric, Sifuna raised severe allegations concerning the recruitment process at the Teachers Service Commission (TSC). The lawmaker claimed that public employment opportunities intended for unemployed teaching graduates are allegedly being converted into political patronage.

According to the senator, TSC hiring slots are being allocated to Members of Parliament at State House, who in turn allegedly sell them to desperate young professionals seeking employment.
Sifuna emphasized that public recruitment must remain grounded in transparency, equal access, and strict meritocracy rather than political influence. He decried the alleged practice as a disservice to thousands of qualified Kenyan youths struggling to secure legitimate jobs amid high unemployment rates across the country.
The escalating exchange highlights deepening political tensions between opposition figures and the Kenya Kwanza administration ahead of future general elections.
While allegations regarding political interference in public recruitment continue to fuel national debate, neither State House nor the Teachers Service Commission has issued an official statement addressing the senator’s latest claims.
