Gachagua Reveals How 2022 Campaign Dance Sparked Marital Friction With Pastor Dorcas
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has sent social media into a frenzy following candid revelations about a past domestic clash with his wife, Pastor Dorcas Gachagua.
Speaking to grassroots leaders at his Wamunyoro home in Nyeri County, Gachagua disclosed that his intense push to secure a parliamentary seat for Mathira MP Eric Wamumbi in 2022 nearly cost him peace in his own home.
According to the former Deputy President, the drama unfolded after a high-energy campaign trail meeting. Gachagua recounted arriving home one evening to an enraged Pastor Dorcas after video footage surfaced showing him dancing enthusiastically with several women leaders, including Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu.
“My determination to clear obstacles for Wamumbi almost created serious trouble in my house,” Gachagua admitted, recounting how his spouse was far from pleased with the campaign trail antics.

Gachagua explained that he had gone out of his way to clear political hurdles to ensure Wamumbi clinched the Mathira parliamentary seat during the 2022 General Election. However, the lighthearted marital story quickly shifted to political undertones.
Expressing deep disappointment, Gachagua lamented that despite risking domestic tranquility to secure Wamumbi’s victory, the lawmaker ultimately turned against him to align politically with President William Ruto.
