Video: Edwin Sifuna Warned, Told How ‘Sponsor’ Will Not Make Him President
Orange Democratic Party (ODM) Secretary General and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has been warned about his political ambitions ahead of the 2027 General Election.
In a tense political exchange at the National Assembly, ODM politician Junet Mohamed appeared to caution Sifuna against relying on former President Uhuru Kenyatta to help him achieve his presidential ambitions.
Junet reportedly referred to Uhuru as Sifuna’s political “sponsor” while questioning whether the former president has the influence to deliver the presidency to Sifuna.
According to Junet, Uhuru Kenyatta was unable to make the late ODM leader Raila Odinga President despite working closely with him politically.
He argued that Sifuna should therefore be cautious about expecting Uhuru to make him President in 2027.
