DCP Leadership Rejects Ndindi Nyoro, Drops Bombshell on Ruto

WAMUNYORO, Kenya — Strategic tensions in Mount Kenya’s political landscape reached a boiling point after the leadership of the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), under former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, publicly rejected Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro’s latest political realignment.

The development follows a dramatic press briefing where Honorable Nyoro announced his official departure from the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) to join the People’s Party of Kenya (PPK).

During his address, Nyoro leveled sharp criticism against President William Ruto, accusing the administration of reneging on its 2022 development promises and failing to fulfill its foundational vision for the country.

However, Nyoro’s political pivot met swift resistance from Gachagua’s camp. Speaking from Wamunyoro, DCP Secretary General-designate and Nyandarua Senator John Methu dropped a bombshell, dismissing Nyoro’s move as a calculated distraction.

Methu claimed that Nyoro remains a state-fronted project dispatched by President Ruto to trigger division and destabilize unity within Mount Kenya.

“We are not going to allow calculated moves aimed at dividing the Mount Kenya region,” Methu asserted. He maintained that Mount Kenya remains firmly under the influence of the DCP party, emphasizing that Rigathi Gachagua remains the region’s undisputed political leader.

The public rejection highlights a deepening rift among Mount Kenya leaders vying for regional dominance ahead of upcoming political realignments. By declaring Nyoro’s exit from UDA as an orchestrated maneuver, the DCP leadership signaled a firm resolve to guard its home turf against external political influences and internal splits.
