President Dr William Samoei Arap Ruto has of late been calling out on retired incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta for interfering in the country’s politics.

But the opposition has been warned that the two leaders are politically together, given that former President Uhuru’s appointees are serving on president Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance Government.

Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has challenged prevailing political narratives regarding the relationship between President William Ruto and his predecessor, Uhuru Kenyatta, arguing that the duo remains secretly united in strategy.

Addressing the ongoing commentary surrounding the supposed rift between the two leaders, Amisi questioned the authenticity of their public falling out.

He pointed out that key figures closely associated with former President Kenyatta have successfully integrated into the current broad-based government administration.

Specifically, the lawmaker cited the appointments of prominent political allies such as former Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe alongside former Governors William Kabogo and Lee Kinyanjui into executive leadership roles.

According to Amisi, the continued inclusion of Kenyatta’s key lieutenants within high-level government structures defies logic if a genuine feud existed.

He maintained that the visible presence of these allies in state appointments indicates a covert political alignment rather than an active feud between the two leaders.

The lawmaker expressed deep skepticism over claims of an ongoing power struggle, asserting that the public friction between the political heavyweights is largely theatrical.

Amisi’s comments come amid broader realignments within both the ruling coalition and opposition ranks as political players position themselves for future electoral contests.

His assessment suggests that behind-the-scenes dynamics between the current and former heads of state are far more cooperative than publicly perceived, potentially shaping strategic alliances, regional power balances, and government appointments in the lead-up to upcoming general elections.
