UDA, ODM Top List as ORPP Approves 48 Parties to Receive Political Parties Fund
The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) has officially published the allocation of the Political Parties Fund to 48 eligible political entities for the 2026/2027 financial year.
According to a Gazette Notice issued on Saturday, August 22, 2026, by the Registrar of Political Parties and Chief Executive Officer John Cox Lorionokou, the funds will be disbursed on a quarterly basis as money is received from the National Treasury.
The distribution is executed pursuant to Sections 23, 25, and 34 (b) of the Political Parties Act, alongside Regulation 6 (1) (c) of the Political Parties (Funding) Regulations 2019.
Top Beneficiaries
The ruling party, United Democratic Alliance (UDA), secured the lion’s share of the allocation at KSh 549,970,254, followed by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) with KSh 293,779,882.

The Jubilee Party ranks third with an allocation of KSh 128,855,930, while Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) stands in fourth place, set to receive KSh 68,820,531.
Other key allocations include:
- Democratic Action Party-Kenya (DAP-K): KSh 30,154,465
- United Democratic Movement (UDM): KSh 25,618,298
- Amani National Congress (ANC): KSh 25,365,726
- Forum for Restoration of Democracy-Kenya (FORD-Kenya): KSh 24,643,211
- Kenya African National Union (KANU): KSh 22,908,217
- Devolution Empowerment Party (DEP): KSh 13,130,858
Distribution Across Smaller Parties
Several mid-tier parties also secured funding, including Maendeleo Chap Chap (KSh 12,076,051), Pamoja African Alliance (KSh 10,960,315), The Service Party (KSh 10,056,632), Movement for Democracy and Growth (KSh 9,341,386), and Kenya Union Party (KSh 9,057,116).
Towards the bottom of the spectrum, Martha Karua’s Peoples Liberation Party (PLP) received KSh 7,203,075, trailing Tujibebe Wakenya Party’s KSh 7,224,716. Smaller allocations went to the Communist Party of Kenya (KSh 997,969), Green Thinking Action Party (KSh 555,169), and Grand Dream Development Party (KSh 444,677). The Justice and Freedom Party of Kenya (JFP) closed the list at the 48th position, receiving KSh 263,933.
