Graduates Poses For A Photo During Mount Kenya University Ceremony At Graduation Pavillion Happy Valley 1
A fresh graduate has won hearts online after changing a visit to a Naivas supermarket Thika branch into a serious graduation celebration, saying that he had every right to shout about his achievement.
In a video going viral online, the excited graduate is seen walking through the store corridors, telling anyone who would listen that he had just completed university.
Rather than celebrating quietly at home, he chose to share his joy with total strangers, approaching shoppers and asking them to congratulate him.
One woman obliged, and in a moment of pure excitement, he thanked her warmly and told her he loved her, an exchange that has since become the highlight of the clip.

Throughout the video, the young man defended his decision to celebrate so openly, pushing back against people who often brush off degrees as “just papers.” He argued that his certificate represented real sacrifice, long nights of studying, financial strain, and years of hard work that could not be reduced to a piece of paper.
His story reasonates with many Kenyans who understand the emotional and financial weight of pursuing a university education, from tuition struggles to family sacrifices made along the way.
For him, silence was never an option. His unfiltered joy, captured in the middle of a supermarket, has reminded many that personal milestones, however celebrated, deserve to be honoured without shame or apology.
