Dagoretti North Member of Parliament Beatrice Elachi has issued a stern piece of advice to Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, urging him to tone down his aggressive political stance and adopt humility if he hopes to safeguard his rising political career.

Speaking during an interview on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, the former Nairobi County Assembly Speaker acknowledged Sifuna’s potential as a promising leader but warned that posture and attitude could become significant stumbling blocks to his long-term ambitions.

Elachi emphasized that leadership requires grace and a willingness to connect genuinely with the public rather than leaning into pride.

“Sifuna has a bright future, but one thing I will tell him as his sister is that God loves humility. Come out of arrogance,” Elachi remarked, calling on the Nairobi Senator to rethink his political strategy and approach to governance.

Invoking the legacy of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Elachi pointed out that successful, long-serving political figures earned public trust by remaining approachable and grounded.

She cautioned Sifuna against letting his political star create a rift between him and the electorate, reminding him that public sentiment can shift quickly in Kenya’s dynamic political landscape.
Elachi’s critique comes amid broader scrutiny of Sifuna’s leadership style within opposition ranks.

While the vocal senator has built a strong reputation as a sharp communicator and prominent defender of his party’s positions, critics have increasingly questioned whether his combative rhetoric serves his long-term goals.

As Nairobi’s political realignment continues to gather momentum, Elachi’s public counsel highlights an ongoing debate over political decorum, tone, and strategy among the country’s younger generation of lawmakers. Sifuna has yet to issue an official response to the remarks.
