A dark cloud has hung over Zimbabwe following the tragic helicopter crash in Marondera Rural area that claimed the life of prominent and flamboyant business tycoon Sir Wicknell Chivayo, alongside his wife, Lucy Muteke.

As the nation comes to terms with the loss, new details have surfaced confirming the presence of other key individuals on board the ill-fated aircraft, which went down on Wednesday evening at around 5:00 PM.

While initial reports centered primarily on Chivayo and his wife, family sources and local authorities have now clarified that multiple individuals lost their lives in the disaster. “We are at a loss for words after the tragic incident,” Herbert stated to state broadcaster ZBC News, confirming that the family is in deep mourning.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) and government spokesperson Nick Mangwana confirmed that there were no survivors among the occupants.

Reports indicate that in addition to Chivayo and Muteke, the aircraft was carrying other passengers and two crew pilots. Authorities are conducting formal forensic identifications before releasing the complete list of deceased individuals to the public.
