Amisi has pointed fingers at two senior politicians, accusing Governors George Natembeya and James Orengo of attempting to gain influence within the movement despite, according to him, joining the political initiative at a later stage.
The allegations have brought renewed attention to possible fault lines within Linda Mwananchi, particularly as different leaders continue to position themselves ahead of the next general election.
Amisi’s remarks suggest that the movement may be facing an internal struggle over leadership, influence and the direction it should take. His claims have also placed the spotlight on the competing ambitions of politicians who have rallied behind the opposition platform.
At the same time, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has publicly declared his support for Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, adding another important dimension to the unfolding political calculations.
Babu has previously indicated that although he supports Sifuna, he may not attend every Linda Mwananchi rally as he concentrates on his own political ambitions in Nairobi.
That position has generated further discussion about the roles different leaders expect to play within the movement.
Amisi’s accusations against Natembeya and Orengo now add another layer to the debate.
Whether the disagreements develop into a serious split or are resolved through negotiations remains to be seen. For now, the claims point to a movement grappling with competing personalities and ambitions as the 2027 political contest draws closer.
