Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has clarified his foundational role in the prominent political movement Linda Mwananchi, dismissing rumors of his departure.
Addressing ongoing discussions regarding opposition dynamics, the legislator asserted that far from walking away, he was the original architect who conceptualized and built the political vehicle.
The lawmaker revealed that the initiative initially took shape as Kenya Moja, a movement created with explicit authorization from the former Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga.
According to the Saboti legislator, he sought approval directly from the late opposition patriarch before launching the political platform.
He explained that the initial green light allowed him to bring together key opposition figures, and over time, that initial concept naturally transformed into what is now known as Linda Mwananchi.
Reflecting on his political journey and close relationship with the former Prime Minister, the MP emphasized the deep mutual trust they shared. He described himself as a direct product of the veteran leader’s political mentorship, noting that he enjoyed rare proximity to the late party chief.
The lawmaker pointed out that party members could confirm the level of confidence, private consultations, and personal guidance exchanged between them throughout their time together.
The clarification comes as political groups navigate internal transitions and establish new alignment platforms ahead of upcoming political contests.
By highlighting his authorization from the former party leader, the legislator positioned Linda Mwananchi as a legitimate continuation of the reformist agenda.
His remarks serve to reinforce his political authority within the opposition fold, cementing his stance as a core strategist carrying forward the legacy of his late political mentor.
