NAIROBI, Kenya — In a major display of unity, former Kakamega County Senator and current Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) Deputy Party Leader, Honorable Cleophas “Cleo” Malalah, joined former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua at the party headquarters to welcome new defectors into the political outfit.

The joint appearance effectively silenced persistent rumors of a political fallout between Gachagua and his deputy. For weeks, narrative threads pushed primarily by figures allied to the ruling Kenya Kwanza administration suggested growing friction within the top leadership of the opposition party.

However, Malalah’s active participation alongside Gachagua put those speculations to rest, signaling a solid alignment ahead of upcoming political realignments.

The atmosphere at the DCP headquarters was charged with enthusiasm as the party leadership received notable leaders, including the Kamukunji Member of Parliament, who officially decamped to the growing political platform.

Malalah engaged warmth and camaraderie throughout the event, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Gachagua to receive incoming members and bolster the party’s grassroots reach.

Addressing the press and supporters present, party leaders emphasized that the influx of new members demonstrates expanding national support and heralds better days ahead for the opposition movement.

Malalah reinforced that DCP remains focused on building an inclusive, formidable force capable of advocating for citizens’ welfare across regions.

By presenting a united front at party headquarters, Gachagua and Malalah sent a clear message to their political rivals: the leadership of DCP is intact, operational, and actively expanding its footprint across the country.
