President William Ruto is facing a fresh political headache after Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro delivered a stark warning about the country’s economic future ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Speaking about the direction of the economy, Nyoro claimed that Ruto has already realised that he is heading home after the next election and has therefore chosen to make the country’s situation increasingly difficult. Read Full Story Here…

Nyoro made an especially alarming claim about Kenya’s debt burden, warning that the country could reach a point where a huge share of government revenue is swallowed by debt repayments.

“Ruto has realised he is going home, so he has decided to make the country impossible from next year,” Nyoro said.

He went further, claiming that by the time Kenyans cast their votes in 2027, as much as Sh90 out of every Sh100 collected could be directed toward servicing the country’s debt.

The remarks are likely to intensify the growing debate over Kenya’s borrowing, public spending and the government’s ability to finance essential services while meeting its debt obligations.

Ndindi Nyoro’s comments also carry political weight because they come as attention increasingly turns toward the 2027 election and the economic record that voters will judge.

For the Ruto administration, the warning presents another challenge as it seeks to convince Kenyans that its economic policies are putting the country on a sustainable path.

With the election approaching, the cost of living, employment, taxation and debt are expected to remain among the most fiercely contested issues.
