The Embakasi East MP has reaffirmed that he will not abandon Sifuna despite the increasingly public disagreement over the political party that should serve as Linda Mwananchi’s electoral vehicle. Babu made the declaration on Friday, September 18, while attending a funeral in Central Nyakach, Kisumu County.
Babu said his political relationship with Sifuna dates back to difficult moments within ODM and insisted that the current disagreement over political parties should not be interpreted as a personal break between them.
He further stated that he would continue supporting and campaigning for Sifuna as Linda Mwananchi’s presidential candidate in 2027.
The announcement comes as Babu advocates for a coalition arrangement that would allow different political parties to retain their identities while operating under the Linda Mwananchi umbrella.
At the same time, Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has backed Ukombozi People’s Party as the vehicle for Sifuna’s presidential campaign, creating a significant internal disagreement.
Babu has also indicated that he will concentrate more attention on Nairobi while continuing to support Sifuna’s national ambitions.
His latest declaration therefore separates his own political plans from his support for Sifuna, leaving the bigger question of which party will ultimately carry Linda Mwananchi into 2027 still unresolved.
