Edwin Sifuna is the only politician who is giving President Dr William Samoei Arap Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza Alliance Government sleepless nights ahead of the forthcoming general elections to be held in August next year.
The vocal Nairobi County Senator has made it clear that he is willing to give president Ruto a run for his money in the forthcoming general elections. More so, he has the backing of many Kenyans.
Nairobi Senator and Linda Mwananchi leader Edwin Sifuna has strongly criticized President William Ruto following reports surrounding the closure of Tata Chemicals Magadi, arguing that erratic state interference threatens foreign direct investment and economic stability.
Highlighting the crucial role of predictable regulatory frameworks, Sifuna noted that when international corporations decide where to commit resources, a reliable dispute resolution system is paramount because business disagreements inevitably arise.
The opposition leader expressed deep concern over what he described as a heavy-handed “mambo matatu, pack and go” governance style. He warned that an environment where the executive can arbitrarily cause the shutdown of enterprise operations severely damages Kenya’s reputation as an attractive investment hub.
According to Sifuna, such unpredictable state actions create widespread uncertainty, scare away potential investors, and directly jeopardize job creation at a time when millions of citizens are already struggling with high unemployment and economic hardship.
Sifuna emphasized that this alarming trend underscores why the Linda Mwananchi movement firmly demands an immediate return to the rule of law and constitutional predictability.
He asserted that safeguarding institutional frameworks, respecting judicial mechanisms, and protecting business interests against political impulse form the core blueprint of their political platform. Reaffirming the movement’s strategy, the lawmaker maintained that establishing a stable, legal-first environment remains the only viable path to restoring investor confidence, driving sustainable growth, and protecting livelihoods across the nation.
