President William Ruto has called for stronger collaboration between the government and the private security industry, saying the partnership is crucial in strengthening Kenya’s security architecture and responding effectively to emerging security challenges.

Speaking during a meeting with stakeholders from the private security sector, the President emphasized that security is a shared responsibility that requires close cooperation between public institutions and private actors.

He noted that the private security industry has grown significantly over the years and now plays a vital role in safeguarding businesses, homes, institutions and critical infrastructure across the country.

Ruto said the relationship between the government and private security providers should be guided by professionalism, integrity and mutual respect.

According to the Head of State, building trust and maintaining high ethical standards will enhance the effectiveness of security operations and improve public confidence in the sector.

“The government recognizes the important contribution made by private security firms in complementing the work of our national security agencies. By working together, we can create a safer and more secure environment for all Kenyans,” the President said.

He noted that the evolving nature of security threats, including terrorism, cybercrime, organized crime and attacks on critical infrastructure, demands greater coordination between all security stakeholders.

He added that sharing information, investing in training and adopting modern technologies would improve preparedness and response to security incidents.
