Kitutu Masaba MP Clive Gisairo Survives Night Crash in Kikuyu, Calls for Disciplinary Action

Kitutu Masaba Member of Parliament Clive Gisairo has escaped unhurt following a high-impact road accident in Kikuyu on Monday evening. The incident involved the lawmaker’s vehicle and a government-leased pickup truck, prompting investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash and the subsequent evacuation of the other driver and passenger from the scene.

The collision occurred at approximately 8:00 PM on September 28, 2026, as the legislator was traveling back to Nairobi after completing official duties in his constituency. Addressing the public regarding the incident, the MP shared a detailed statement posted on his official Facebook page to reassure his constituents and clarify the events that transpired during the late-night ordeal.

“Yesternight as I was coming to Nairobi from my constituency we were involved in an accident after being hit from behind by a speeding Isuzu DMax (KDX961T) registered to Isuzu Kenya leased to the ministry of interior,” Gisairo posted on his Facebook page on Tuesday morning.

According to the MP, the force of the rear-end collision severed a tire from his vehicle, yet his driver maintained composure under extreme pressure to avoid a catastrophic outcome. “The pick up lost control and rolled down the road shoulder but my driver was able to safely bring our car to a safe stop despite having lost the rear right tyre,” he detailed.

Despite the chaotic scene, Gisairo and his team immediately rendered aid to the occupants of the overturned state vehicle. However, the lawmaker raised concerns over how the situation was subsequently handled by arriving government personnel before standard traffic procedures could be concluded.

“We were able to assist the two occupants of the other car who were shortly after whisked away by a GK vehicle (GKB787J) without allowing the proper procedures by traffic police who had arrived at the scene,” Gisairo stated on Facebook, noting that officers from the Ministry of Interior took the two individuals away prematurely.

Gisairo confirmed that formal traffic incident reports have been logged with law enforcement agencies, and relevant government departments have initiated inquiries to address the procedural breach and the cause of the collision itself.

“I can confirm that I have reported the matter to the relevant agencies and they are cooperating in the investigations and the ministry has identified the two persons in the car together with the other ministry officers who whisked them away,” his post continued. “I do believe that the matter will be fully addressed and the officers be disciplined as per the law.”

Addressing his health status following the impact, the lawmaker reassured the public that he and his team avoided severe bodily injury, suffering only minor physical strain from the kinetic force of the crash.

“Most importantly I would like to say that we are safe except for the muscle pulls of absorbing the impact,” he wrote. “To all my supporters I thank you for the overwhelming concerns and messages. I love you all. Sasa tujenge taifa pamoja.”

Traffic police and Ministry of Interior officials are expected to issue further statements as investigations into the driving conduct and the unauthorized departure of the occupants proceed.
