Murder Suspect Links Gachagua to Alleged Plot Against Ruto’s Government
In a dramatic twist to an ongoing high-profile criminal case, murder suspect Rose Mbithe Mulwa has alleged that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua attempted to seize control of her political party in 2024 to potentially destabilize President William Ruto’s administration.
Speaking while addressing her political history amid the murder probe, Mbithe claimed Gachagua sent an emissary to her Karen office demanding she hand over the reins of her party.
She stated she firmly turned down the request over fears that granting a sitting Deputy President control of the entity could allow it to be leveraged against the current government.
Mbithe further made bold political assertions, claiming the Wiper party was originally formed inside her Karen office and that she personally drew its signature umbrella emblem, in addition to raising KSh 40 million for its establishment.
She noted that she later rejected overtures from Wiper officials to join them, opting to maintain her own presidential ambitions.

These explosive statements come as Mbithe, along with her children Chris Mulwa and Angela Mulwa, face murder charges in connection with the July 29 shooting of clinical psychologist Dr. Victoria Nthunya Mutiso in Nairobi’s Upper Hill neighborhood.
Investigators are examining whether the fatal shooting stems from a bitter, long-standing property dispute involving Mbithe, her former husband Professor David Musyimi Ndetei, and the deceased.
Maintaining her innocence, Mbithe accused unnamed individuals of using vast wealth and political influence to target her family. The Director of Public Prosecutions has approved murder charges against all three family members, and they are scheduled to formally take their plea before the High Court.
