Speaking during a public address, the Head of State said the government will intensify efforts to eliminate the widespread use and distribution of illicit drugs, second generation alcohol and other harmful substances that have increasingly devastated families and communities across the country.
Ruto said the campaign will involve multiple government agencies working together to dismantle drug trafficking networks, shut down illegal alcohol manufacturing plants, and enforce stricter regulations on licensed outlets found violating the law.
The President warned that drug abuse among the youth is not only destroying lives but also undermining the country’s economic potential by robbing Kenya of a productive generation.
He noted that many young people have fallen into addiction, crime, and hopelessness due to easy access to narcotics and illicit brews.

The President further called on parents, religious leaders, teachers and local administrators to play an active role in identifying and helping affected youth before addiction spirals out of control.
