Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has intensified his nationwide political consultations after hosting a high profile delegation of opinion leaders from Gichugu Constituency in Kirinyaga County, describing the region as his “second home.”
In a statement shared after the meeting, Gachagua reflected on his deep personal connection with Gichugu, revealing that he spent nine formative years in the constituency.
He noted that he studied for six years at Kianyaga High School from Form One to Form Six before later serving as a District Officer in the area for three years.
The former Deputy President said his long-standing relationship with the people of Gichugu has created lasting bonds, making the constituency an important part of his personal and political journey.
“I was humbled this morning to receive a high-powered delegation of respected opinion leaders from Gichugu as part of the ongoing consultations on the liberation of our country and the formation of the 6th Administration,” Gachagua said.
The meeting forms part of a series of consultations Gachagua has been holding with political leaders, professionals, religious figures, business leaders and community representatives from different parts of the country.

The discussions are aimed at shaping a united political movement ahead of Kenya’s next General Election.
Although details of the discussions were not made public, Gachagua maintained that the consultations are focused on what he described as the country’s liberation and the establishment of a government that addresses the concerns of ordinary Kenyans.
His latest engagement comes amid increasing political activity across the country, with various leaders building alliances and engaging stakeholders in preparation for the 2027 elections.
Gachagua has consistently maintained that broad-based consultations are necessary to develop a shared vision for Kenya’s future.
Political observers view the continued meetings as part of efforts to strengthen his support base, particularly in the Mount Kenya region, where Gichugu remains one of the influential constituencies in Kirinyaga County.

He concluded his message by reaffirming that the consultations will continue as momentum builds toward what he described as the formation of the country’s 6th Administration.
