Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has raised serious allegations against state operatives, accusing them of orchestrating covert state machinations to derail the Linda Mwananchi movement and its upcoming public rallies.
The former Rift Valley region Commissioner decided to unmask what President Dr William Samoei Arap Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza Alliance Government are busy doing behind the scenes.
The county chief revealed that unknown individuals backed by powerful forces have preemptively registered his popular TAWE movement as a political party with the Registrar of Political Parties without his consent.
According to Natembeya, this calculated maneuver is part of a broader scheme aimed at neutralizing his political influence and blocking the scheduled Linda Mwananchi Nairobi rally set for the thirteenth.
By turning the TAWE slogan—which translates to no in Luhya—into an official party structure under proxy control, the government seeks to hijack the movement’s identity, create legal hurdles, and sow confusion among its supporters.
The governor maintained that state agents are visibly unsettled by the growing momentum of the Linda Mwananchi faction, which brings together progressive leaders challenging current governance and socio-economic hardships.
He explained that state officials are using administrative technicalities, illegal party registrations, and bureaucratic sabotage to undermine the group’s legal standing before their major gathering in the capital.
Despite these alleged state-sponsored roadblocks, Natembeya insisted that the Linda Mwananchi coalition remains resolute.
He asserted that no amount of political trickery or backdoor party registrations will stop the scheduled Nairobi rally, reaffirming that the TAWE movement is a genuine grassroots awakening rather than a mere legal vehicle that can be hijacked by state operatives.
The governor urged his supporters to remain focused and turn out in large numbers on the thirteenth, declaring that the battle to defend the rights of ordinary citizens will continue unabated across the nation.
