Nairobi County Senator Edwin Sifuna is positioning himself for the country’s top seat in the forthcoming general elections to be held in August next year.

The former Orange Democratic Movement Party Secretary General is no doubt giving President Dr William Samoei Arap Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza Alliance Government a run for their money with many Kenyans supporting him.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has declared a decisive timeline for the Linda Mwananchi movement, revealing that the opposition alignment will roll out a comprehensive national governance roadmap over the next eleven months.

Addressing supporters during a series of political engagements across the country, the lawmaker emphasized that the group is shifting its focus from mere political activism to presenting concrete policy solutions for Kenya’s future. 

The announcement comes amid escalating political realignments as opposition leaders consolidate their strategy ahead of the next electoral cycle. According to the legislator, the upcoming strategy will clearly outline alternative policies on economic recovery, public governance, taxation, and social protection.

He noted that the political movement intends to demonstrate a disciplined and deliberate vision to convince voters of its readiness to manage state affairs. 
Highlighting the importance of issue-based politics, the senator explained that winning public confidence requires presenting clear governance alternatives rather than relying solely on political rhetoric.

Over the specified timeframe, the movement plans to hold targeted consultative forums and public engagements nationwide to refine its manifesto. These forums aim to gather direct feedback from citizens, civil society groups, and grassroots communities to ensure the roadmap aligns with the immediate economic realities of everyday life. 

The senator reiterated the resolve of the Linda Mwananchi movement to maintain cohesion despite external pressures and attempts by political rivals to disrupt its agenda. By setting a strict eleven-month timeline to unveil its governance strategy, the coalition signals a structured transition toward a full-scale presidential campaign intended to present a formidable opposition platform.
